Born in 1975, in Lisbon. Lives and works in Lisbon. Graduated in Fine Arts - Sculpture, by the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, in 2000, completed in 2005 a postgraduate degree in Curatorial Studies at the same institution. In 1999 was an Erasmus Fellow at the HdK - Hochschule der Künste, in Berlin. At the moment is Ph.D student in Contemporary Art at Colégio das Artes, University of Coimbra.
In institutional terms worked as a contemporary art expert at Institute of Contemporary Art – Portuguese Ministry of Culture, between 2001 and 2003. Between 2003 and 2015 worked as Studio Manager at Julião Sarmento's Studio and between 2015 and 2018 was a curator and curatorial coordinator at MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, in Lisbon.
Since 2003 has been working also as an independent curator, developing curatorial and editorial projects with (among others) the Serralves Museum (Porto), MACE (Elvas), Culturgest (Lisbon), CAV (Coimbra), CAPC (Coimbra), Colégio das Artes (Coimbra), Atelier Museu Júlio Pomar (Lisbon), Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon), Guimarães Capital of Culture (Guimarães), Quadrum Gallery/EGEAC (Lisbon), Appleton Square (Lisbon), LUX Frágil (Lisbon), Nuno Centeno Gallery (Porto), Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art Gallery (Lisbon), 3 + 1 Gallery (Lisbon), Caroline Pagés Gallery (Lisbon), Giefarte (Lisbon), the ArteInstitute – NY (New York), Carmona e Costa Foundation (Lisbon), Pavilion Center of Portugal (Coimbra), Nimas Movie Theatre (Lisbon), Monastery of Alcobaça (Alcobaça), Camões Institute (Lisbon), ZDB (Lisbon), or the art magazines L+Arte and Contemporânea.
Has published several essays, texts and articles; held public communications at conferences, seminars and academic events; conducted guided thematic tours in collaboration with various museological institutions; was member of awards and selection boards for Prizes, Scholarships and Artistic Residencies; and held public talks with artists in the context of several exhibition projects.
