Domenico de Chirico
Italy, Independent Curator
Independent curator, born in Terlizzi (BA), Italy, in 1983, currently lives and works in Milan. After completing classical studies, he graduated with honors in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Bari, with an experimental thesis in Comparative Art History of European Countries, with a specific focus on artists Dan and Lia Perjovschi.
He actively collaborates with numerous international artists, galleries, institutions, art fairs, art prizes, and magazines worldwide.
From 2011 to 2015, he taught Visual Culture and Trend Research at IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan. He served as Artistic Director of DAMA – Contemporary Art Fair, Turin (2016–2019), participated in the Network Event for Young Curators promoted by LISTE – Art Fair Basel, Basel (2018), and was a jury member for the Arte Laguna Prize (2018). He has also been a visiting tutor at Goldsmiths, University of London (2018) and at the Istituto Svizzero, Rome, as well as a visiting professor at N.I.C.E. – Course for Curators of Contemporary Art Exhibitions, Turin; UMPRUM – Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, Prague; NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan; and the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague. In 2024, he served as Artistic Director of ORTIGIA CONTEMPORANEA – Festival of Contemporary Art, Syracuse, Sicily. That same year, he was also a jury member for the Premio Fondazione The Bank at ArtVerona 2024, and for We Art Open, Venice 2025.

– Lecturer at IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan – course: Phenomenology and History of Crossovers Between Art and Fashion
