Alternative ways of travel (Modos alternativos de viaje)
Alternative ways of travel is a poetic essay about travel, which intersects references around art, cinema and literature written by Sofía Enríquez. It arises from a longing for ancient distances, a mosaic of traveling reflections that revolve around the territory , body and language. A game, a kaleidoscope, a present, a map, an invitation.

EXPERIMENTATION CYCLE #1 LUCAS LEÓN
Experimentation cycle of studio visit online/ conversation with friends. Conversation with Lucas León, professional Illustrator from Villa Alemana, Chile. He is represented by Chimera Crypto Art (UK) and is a member of The Association of Illustrators (UK). We talk about our friendship, cryptoart, his practice, the art world in Chile, Nietzsche, Nicolas Jaar and some classic random ideas. Recorded from Casa Abstracta, Reñaca, Chile. May 8, 2021. *Conversation recorded in Spanish* "I find myself more intimately in art when I go through all these details in the artwork, because that teaches me deeply about existence, and I want to share it as best I can, in case something resonates, awakens, heals us. At least I know that dedicating myself to art is dedicating myself to love, is the work of expressing something honest. Despite our mistreated world and society, that love is in helping us to talk with the soul, from there I trust what comes out, I trust what connects, and what that disarticulates to build another rebel and more open being." L.León

Reino Plantae

Martires de la Conquista
Montserrat Ayala, Antonio Tellez
Curated by: Sofía Enríquez
Co-curated with Natalia Vargas
Don't tell anyone, but today they revealed to me secrets of a silent expanding cosmos, right here, across the street. They told me that before we stepped on earth calling ourselves human, before sailing the seas, building empires, believing ourselves to be eternal. Before having the strange illusion of controlling and owning the intangible, of inventing time, of loving in language, of dreaming the future. Before and until today, they exist, the inhabitants of Reino Plantae, capable of perceiving and reacting to what is happening in their environment, with strange strength and subtle delicacy. They told me that they resisted the innumerable stages of the earth, the cold, the heat, the separation of continents, the change of the oceans, even us, crazy humans. They told me that they never made a revolution or took up arms. They did not proclaim their independence, they did not invent wars or justify battles. They simply continued, in continuous movement, leaving the gaps left by the sidewalks, without making a single noise, invisible to the eyes of everyday urban life, noise, traffic, giving us a free way, and without even seeing it, a tinge of green in our daily walk. They even told me about their intimacy. That when the sun rises they dance with every fiber of their body, inventing music that only they can hear so as not to be discovered, and that at nightfall, flirtatious, they come out with their shine, imperceptible to our eyes, to illuminate their kingdom. And so they continue, giving secret beauty to those who want to discover their ancient breaths. - Reino Plantae, immersive site specific installation in a empty flat in Mexico City. The ground was covered with moss at various levels and the sky covered with hanging ferns which reproduced the sound of their photosynthesis.
